Light Brown Mulch

Light brown mulch gives planting beds and landscaped areas a warm, natural-looking finish. Its softer brown color complements plants, trees, stone and traditional landscapes without creating the darker contrast of black or chocolate brown mulch.

This medium-shred mulch is made locally from recycled clean green waste. The supplier processes the material without lumber pallets or treated wood. A water-soluble colorant produces its consistent light brown appearance.

A Warm, Natural Mulch Color

Light brown mulch works well when you want the benefits of colored mulch with an appearance closer to natural wood. The warm color blends easily with earth-tone homes, flagstone, decorative rock and established landscapes.

Mulch also forms a protective layer over the soil. This layer slows moisture loss, limits the sunlight available to new weeds and protects plant roots from rapid temperature changes.

Made from Locally Recycled Material

The clean green waste used to produce this mulch is ground and allowed to begin breaking down before it is sold. Recycling this material creates a useful landscape product while keeping green waste out of the landfill.

Because this is a recycled organic material, the exact texture and amount of finer material can vary between loads. Its color may also appear different depending on lighting, moisture and the age of the material.

Installation and Coverage

Install light brown mulch approximately 3 to 4 inches deep in new landscape beds. One cubic yard covers about 108 square feet at 3 inches deep or 81 square feet at 4 inches deep.

Existing beds may only need a lighter top layer to restore their appearance. Sunlight, irrigation and weather will gradually fade the color, so add fresh material when needed.

Keep mulch several inches away from tree trunks, shrub stems and building foundations. Do not pile it directly against plants or create deep mulch mounds around trees.

Rock N Yard Landscape Center coordinates bulk delivery of Light Brown Mulch throughout the Salt Lake Valley. This color is not available for customer pickup at our Copperton location.
