Natural Mulch (organic) – Fine

Fine natural mulch provides a smooth, finished covering for planting beds, trees and detailed landscape areas. Its smaller wood pieces settle together more evenly than medium-shred mulch while retaining a natural, undyed appearance.

This organic wood mulch is made from clean wood material without lumber pallets or treated wood. It contains pieces approximately 1 inch and smaller, although occasional larger pieces may be present.

A Finer Natural Mulch Texture

The smaller particle size makes this mulch a good choice for detailed planting beds and areas where larger wood pieces may appear too coarse. It can also be used as a fresh top layer over an existing natural mulch bed.

This product does not contain added colorant. Fresh material may include a mixture of tan, brown and gray wood tones. Its appearance will continue to change naturally with exposure to sunlight, moisture and weather.

Natural Product Variation

Fine natural mulch generally contains wood pieces approximately 1 inch and smaller. Because it is a shredded organic material, each load can contain a mixture of fine fibers, small wood pieces and occasional pieces outside the typical size range.

Color, texture and the amount of finer material will vary between loads. These differences are normal for an undyed natural wood product.

Installation and Coverage

Install Fine Natural Mulch approximately 3 inches deep in a new landscape bed. One cubic yard covers about 108 square feet at this depth.

An existing bed may only require a lighter top layer. Check the remaining mulch depth before ordering and add fresh material as the existing layer settles and decomposes.

Use this product as a surface mulch rather than tilling it directly into planting soil. Mixing unfinished wood material into the soil can temporarily affect the nitrogen available to nearby plants.

Keep mulch several inches away from tree trunks, shrub stems and building foundations. Do not pile it directly against plants or create deep mulch mounds around trees.

Rock N Yard Landscape Center coordinates bulk delivery of Fine Natural Mulch throughout the Salt Lake Valley. This product is not available for customer pickup at our Copperton location.
