Mushroom Compost (organic)

$75 / cubic yard

1 yard is equal to approximately 1100 lbs (0.55 tons)

Poor soil….we all suffer from it here ranging from Utah County, through Salt Lake County, and into Davis County and beyond! Mushroom compost improves soil aeration, increases water retention, and gives you an overall better, fertile soil in an organic and environmentally friendly way. Poor soil quality is a challenge many home gardeners struggle with. We live in a desert so in many places, the soil is too dry and hard.  Other gardeners are struggling with low nutrient soil. Without good soil, plants suffer from unhealthy growth.

Mushroom compost is often referred to as black gold because it can enhance your soil and boost plant growth when used effectively. It is a valuable by-product that is an excellent source of humus and is derived from mushroom farming. It is made from the growth medium left after mushrooms are harvested and more accurately called mushroom soil. This means that it is a soil-like material remaining after a crop of mushrooms is harvested and is high in organic matter making it desirable for use as a soil amendment or soil conditioner.

Our mushroom compost sits at about as 7 on the pH scale but is not recommended for seed germination. Mushroom compost can be higher in soluable salts and it is highly recommended that it is fully incorporated into the soil before planting.

**If you desire a “ready to plant” soil, please see our Raised Bedding Soil. Raised bedding soil can also be used for seed germination.

**Please keep in mind, because this product is only available for delivery, there is a 2 yard minimum on all orders.**
