Platinum Rose Gravel – 1″ Minus is our fully fractured Platinum Rose 1-inch gravel. It features dark gray, charcoal and subtle rose or purple-gray coloring. Some pieces may also contain light-colored veining. The overall appearance naturally varies, so individual loads may look lighter or darker than the material shown in the photos.

This unwashed gravel contains rock up to approximately 1 inch, along with some smaller pieces ranging from about 1/4 inch to 1 inch. Because it is a minus product, the amount of smaller rock can vary between loads. Its fractured shape helps the pieces settle together, making it suitable for decorative areas, driveways and parking surfaces.

Platinum Rose 1-Inch Gravel Characteristics

• Fully fractured rock with angular edges
• Contains pieces approximately 1 inch and smaller
• Includes some 1/4-inch to 1-inch material
• Dark gray and charcoal base coloring
• Subtle rose, purple-gray and light-colored accents
• Unwashed material with natural dust and crusher fines
• Natural color and sizing variation should be expected

Because this product is unwashed, dust and fines may coat the rock when it arrives. Moisture can also make the colors appear darker or more pronounced. We recommend viewing the current material at our landscape center if matching a previous load or choosing between similar colors.

Recommended Uses for Platinum Rose Gravel

• Decorative landscape beds and flower beds
• Park strips and water-wise landscapes
• Driveways and residential parking areas
• Areas surrounding trees, shrubs and ornamental grasses
• Informal garden paths and utility walkways
• Contrasting areas near dark gray or black boulders

For driveways and parking areas, install the gravel over a properly prepared and stable base. The exact preparation and total depth will depend on the soil, drainage and expected vehicle use.

Gravel Versus Platinum Rose Pathway Chat

Some customers choose Platinum Rose Gravel for informal paths with a larger, more rugged surface. However, its 1-inch pieces create a coarser walking surface than pathway chat. As a result, it will not create the same smooth, tightly compacted finish.

For a smaller and smoother walking surface, consider our Platinum Rose Pathway Chat – 3/8″ Minus. It contains finer material designed to compact into a firmer finished path.

For a larger decorative option, compare this material with our Platinum Rose Gravel – 2″ Minus. In addition, the larger size works well in park strips and landscape beds when you want a heavier decorative rock.

Recommended Installation Depth

Install Platinum Rose Gravel at a minimum depth of 2 inches. We recommend approximately 3 inches for better long-term coverage and easier maintenance. Natural settling and site conditions may affect the final amount required.
