Platinum Rose Gravel – 2″ Minus is our larger Platinum Rose 2″ gravel. This fully fractured decorative rock combines dark gray and charcoal coloring with subtle rose or purple-gray tones. Individual pieces may also contain light-colored veining.

The overall color naturally varies between loads. For example, some loads may appear lighter gray, while others may have deeper charcoal coloring or more noticeable rose tones. In addition, moisture can make the colors appear darker and more pronounced.

Platinum Rose 2″ Gravel Characteristics

• Typical rock size ranges from approximately 1.25 to 2 inches
• Fully fractured rock with angular edges
• Dark gray and charcoal base coloring
• Subtle rose, purple-gray and light-colored accents
• Unwashed material with natural dust and crusher fines
• Natural color and sizing variation should be expected

Although the product name includes “2-inch minus,” this material does not normally contain a continuous range of smaller rock from 1/4 inch through 2 inches. Most of the actual rock pieces fall between approximately 1.25 and 2 inches. However, dust and crusher fines from the production process may coat the rock when it is delivered.

The larger size makes this rock especially popular for park strips. It is large enough to create a substantial finished appearance while remaining manageable during installation. Its fractured shape also makes it suitable for driveways and parking surfaces when installed over a properly prepared base.

Using 2-Inch Gravel for Pathways

Platinum Rose Gravel – 2″ Minus can be used for informal paths when a larger and more rugged surface is desired. However, most customers will find a smaller material more comfortable for regular walking areas.

For a smaller gravel surface, consider our Platinum Rose Gravel – 1″ Minus. It provides the same general color family with a smaller rock size.

For a smoother surface that compacts more firmly, choose our Platinum Rose Pathway Chat – 3/8″ Minus. The pathway chat contains finer material and creates a more comfortable finished walking surface.

Recommended Installation Depth

Install Platinum Rose Gravel at approximately 4 inches deep for adequate coverage. The final quantity required will depend on the total square footage, site preparation and existing ground conditions.

For driveways and parking areas, the decorative gravel should be installed over a properly prepared and stable base. Base preparation will vary depending on the soil, drainage and expected vehicle use.
