Crimson Ash Gravel – 2″ Minus is a fully fractured landscape rock that typically ranges from approximately 1.25 to 2 inches. It combines light gray, dark gray, tan and red tones in a larger size that works especially well for park strips, landscape beds and parking areas.
Crimson Ash Gravel for Park Strips
This is the Crimson Ash size that Rock N Yard Landscape Services installs most often in park strips. Rock in the 1.5-to-2-inch range is large enough to resist shifting and scattering better than smaller gravel, but it remains easier to walk across than oversized cobble.
- Park strips and water-wise landscapes
- Landscape and flower beds
- Parking areas and equipment pads
- Rock borders and accent areas
- Residential and commercial ground cover
The fully fractured pieces have angular faces that help the material fit together. This size can work in residential parking areas and on pads used for trucks, trailers or equipment. A properly prepared and compacted base remains important, especially when the area will carry heavier vehicles.
Crimson Ash Gravel Colors and Natural Variation
The Crimson Ash color family includes a natural mixture of light and dark gray, tan and red stone. The balance of colors can vary between loads. Some material may appear more gray, while another load may show stronger tan or red tones.
The photos represent the general color and size of the product, but natural stone cannot provide an exact or uniform color match. View current inventory in person if the precise balance of colors matters for your project.
Unwashed Gravel and Crusher Fines
This is an unwashed gravel. Red crusher dust and fines may coat the rock and make a new load appear dusty, dirty or different in color from the photos. The amount of crusher fines can vary with production, handling and weather conditions.
Use a blower to remove loose surface dust before rinsing the gravel. Allow the material to dry before judging its final color. The crusher fines are a normal result of producing and handling fractured rock.
Recommended Depth for 2-Inch Crimson Ash Gravel
Install this 2-inch Crimson Ash gravel approximately 4 inches deep for adequate coverage. At that depth, one cubic yard covers approximately 81 square feet. Actual coverage will vary with grading, the prepared surface and how the pieces settle during installation.
Other Crimson Ash Rock Sizes
For a smaller option, compare Crimson Ash Gravel – 1″. For larger accents, borders or dry creek areas, see Crimson Ash Cobble – 4–8″.
Pickup, Delivery and Installation
Rock N Yard Landscape Center sells Crimson Ash Gravel by the cubic yard for pickup or delivery throughout the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding service area. We display an equivalent ton price only for comparison because material weight and common industry pricing methods can vary.
Drivers must dump bulk material on an accessible concrete or asphalt surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether a drop location is safe and accessible.
Rock N Yard Landscape Services offers landscape material installation for prepared areas and complete site preparation and installation.
