Crimson Ash Gravel – 1″ is a fully fractured landscape gravel with a natural mixture of light gray, dark gray, tan and red tones. Its varied color and practical 1-inch size make it a versatile choice for landscape beds, park strips, driveways and parking areas.

Crimson Ash Gravel Colors and Appearance

The balance of gray, tan and red can change from one load to another because Crimson Ash Gravel is a natural material. One load may appear more gray, while another may show stronger red or tan tones. The photos represent the general color family, but they cannot guarantee the exact balance of colors in current inventory.

This material is fully fractured, so the angular pieces fit together better than rounded rock. Most of the material is close to the listed 1-inch size. We do not classify it as a minus product because it does not contain a large amount of smaller rock.

Where to Use Crimson Ash Gravel

  • Landscape and flower beds
  • Park strips and water-wise landscapes
  • Driveways and parking areas
  • Rock borders and general ground cover
  • Residential and commercial landscape projects

Rock N Yard Landscape Services frequently installs Crimson Ash Gravel in park strip projects. Its mix of earth tones works well with many home colors, plants and other landscape materials.

For driveways and parking areas, install the gravel over a properly prepared and compacted base. Although the pieces are fully fractured, this is not a minus material with a broad range of smaller particles. It will not form the same dense, solid surface as compacted road base.

Unwashed Crimson Ash Gravel and Crusher Fines

This is an unwashed gravel. Red crusher dust and fines may coat the rock and make a new load appear dusty, dirty or different in color from the photos. The amount of crusher fines can vary with production, handling and weather conditions.

If a load contains noticeable surface dust, use a blower to remove loose fines before rinsing the gravel. Allow the material to dry before judging its final color. Some dust and fines are normal for an unwashed crushed rock and do not mean the product contains a large amount of undersized gravel.

Recommended Installation Depth

Install Crimson Ash Gravel at least 2.5 inches deep for adequate coverage. When the project allows, we recommend a full 3-inch depth for better long-term coverage and easier maintenance as the rock settles or gets disturbed over time.

At 3 inches deep, one cubic yard covers approximately 108 square feet. At the 2.5-inch minimum, one cubic yard covers approximately 130 square feet. Actual coverage will vary with site conditions, grading and installation.

Other Crimson Ash Rock Sizes

For the same color family in larger sizes, compare Crimson Ash Gravel – 2″ and Crimson Ash Cobble – 4–8″. Using more than one size can create coordinated accent areas, borders and dry creek features.

Crimson Ash Gravel Pickup, Delivery and Installation

Rock N Yard Landscape Center sells Crimson Ash Gravel by the cubic yard for pickup or delivery throughout the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding service area. We display an equivalent ton price only for comparison because material weight and common industry pricing methods can vary.

Drivers must dump bulk material on an accessible concrete or asphalt surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether a drop location is safe and accessible.

Rock N Yard Landscape Services offers landscape material installation for prepared areas as well as complete site preparation and installation.
