Desperado Trail Blonde Flagstone for Patios and Walkways

Desperado Trail is an irregular flagstone with a neutral blonde and tan base, plus gold and rust tones throughout. Use it to create a patio, walkway, garden path, or stepping-stone area. It can also be stacked for decorative features, but it is not sold as retaining-wall stone.

Thickness and coverage

This is 2″ patio flagstone. Individual stones vary in thickness, generally from about 1.5″ to 2.5″, and their shapes and face sizes are irregular. One full pallet weighs approximately 2,000 lb (1 ton).

For planning, we generally tell customers to expect about 80–100 square feet per pallet when laying the stones with typical gaps. Coverage depends on the pieces selected, joint width, and layout. A closely fitted patio with narrow joints may cover less area per pallet. If you have measurements or a layout in mind, ask us to help estimate the quantity.

Full pallets or individual pieces

A full 2,000 lb pallet costs $415 and is available for pickup or delivery. If you only need a few stones, visit our Landscape Center to choose pieces from an opened pallet. We weigh your selections and sell them for $0.25 per pound; individual-piece purchases are pickup only. Bring an appropriate vehicle and check its payload capacity before collecting larger quantities.

Preparing and installing flagstone

Flagstone projects commonly need a properly prepared sub-base and leveling layer. Because natural stones vary in thickness, some pieces need more leveling material beneath them to create an even walking surface. When estimating installation work, our crew generally allows about 20–25% more leveling-base material than it otherwise would for a uniform-thickness product. The right preparation depends on the site and project.

Our separate Landscape Services team can handle a complete installation or install stone in an area you have prepared, provided that preparation is suitable. Tell us which option you need when you contact us. Delivery trucks stay on concrete or asphalt; we cannot drive them onto lawns or other yard surfaces.
