Desperado Trail Gravel – 1″ Minus Washed
The Desperado Trail Gravel 1 inch product is a washed, fractured landscape rock with a natural blend of tan, cream and gray. Some loads also contain rust and gold tones. Its warm, varied coloring works well in desert, rustic, modern and natural landscape designs.
This is a 1″ minus gravel. It contains crushed rock measuring approximately 1″ and smaller. The amount of smaller material can vary between loads. After installation, the smaller pieces generally settle between and beneath the larger stones, helping provide more complete coverage.
Recommended Uses
- Landscape beds and park strips
- Gravel driveways and parking areas with proper preparation
- Dry creek beds and drainage features
- Pond borders and water-feature areas
- Areas surrounding shrubs, flowers and ornamental grasses
- Decorative borders and landscape transitions
- Desert, rustic and natural landscape designs
Washed Desperado Trail Gravel
Washing removes much of the loose dust and fine material created during processing. However, washed gravel is not guaranteed to be completely free of soil. A light dirt film may remain on some stones, and weather or handling can introduce additional dust before delivery.
Rain or light rinsing will make the natural tan, cream, gray, rust and gold colors more visible. Customers using the gravel immediately around a pond or water feature may want to rinse the installed material again if residual dust is a concern.
Installing Desperado Trail Gravel 1 Inch
Install the gravel approximately 2.5″ to 3″ deep for adequate decorative coverage. Clear and grade the area before installation so the finished surface follows the drainage and appearance you want.
Driveways and parking areas may require additional excavation, a compacted structural base and greater overall depth. The appropriate preparation depends on the existing soil, drainage and intended vehicle traffic. Edge containment can also help keep the gravel within the intended area.
Landscape fabric may help separate the gravel from the existing soil in appropriate decorative applications. It does not replace proper excavation, grading or structural base preparation where those steps are needed.
Natural Color and Sizing Variations
Desperado Trail Gravel is a natural quarry material. Color, texture and particle distribution can vary between loads. The proportion of larger and smaller pieces within this 1″ minus product may also change over time.
We recommend viewing the current material in person when matching an existing project is important. Rock N Yard cannot guarantee an exact match to rock purchased previously.
