Natural Chunk Bark for Landscape Beds

Natural Chunk Bark – Medium is a decorative ground cover made from fir and pine bark. The pieces typically measure approximately 3–5 inches, creating a bold, chunky texture in landscaped areas.

The warm, natural color makes this bark an attractive choice for flower beds, trees, shrubs, entrances and other high-visibility areas. Its larger pieces also break down more slowly than fine bark, shredded mulch or Soil Pep.

Recommended Installation Depth

Install Medium Chunk Bark approximately 4–5 inches deep for full and even coverage. Because the individual pieces are relatively large, a shallow layer may leave visible gaps between them.

One cubic yard covers approximately 65–80 square feet when installed 4–5 inches deep.

If you are refreshing an area that already contains bark, measure the remaining depth before calculating your order. You may only need enough new material to restore the desired appearance and coverage.

Keep the bark a few inches away from tree trunks, plant crowns and building foundations. Piling mulch directly against these areas can trap unwanted moisture.

Natural Color and Size Variation

Medium Chunk Bark is a natural product, so its exact color, shape and particle size will vary. The bark generally contains warm tan and brown tones that gradually darken or fade as they weather.

Most pieces typically measure approximately 3–5 inches. Smaller pieces, narrow shreds and occasional pieces outside that range may also be present because of the natural shape and screening process.
